Social entrepreneur, Victoria Sanders founded Elephanta Education, L3C, in 2018 with a simple yet powerful goal: to inspire K12 students to understand how they connect to the world—past, present, future. This journey began in Wyoming with a board game that explored how Westward Expansion unfolded across the Northern Plains. Over two years, Sanders refined and tested the Bozeman Trail board game with 2,000 students statewide.
GAME THEORY
During the pandemic, Sanders used the same template to build more board games, layering more standards and objectives to put the past into fuller context. BRAVE games are a Game Theory application, empowering kids to wrestle with decision-making and shape an intelligent future.
LEARNING SCIENCE
Post-pandemic, teachers requested more time-sensitive skilled learning while declining outcomes forced schools to rethink literacy instruction. In response, Sanders tightened the BRAVE method, launching JAMs—tightly scoped, inquiry-led activities that bring literacy to the foreground.
